Uninstall and Data Deletion

Disabling a widget, unpublishing configuration, disabling AI/analytics, uninstalling the App and physical deletion from Atlassian recovery systems are different operations.

What the App stores

Installation-scoped Forge storage may contain configuration drafts and versions, settings, publication/approval metadata, capability/migration metadata, approved-participant mappings, privacy-treated metric snapshots, content-free audit and optional analytics records, cache/lease/rate/idempotency/budget state, jobs and optional AI cache/usage records. Record-specific retention is listed in the Privacy Policy.

Before uninstalling

  1. Confirm that an authorized Jira administrator approved the site and change window.
  2. Review legal or contractual retention duties and any active privacy/support request.
  3. Disable optional AI or analytics if immediate feature stop is required; this does not itself delete existing records.
  4. Record the App version and intended uninstall time without copying customer data.
  5. Contact Mederak Apps Service Desk before uninstall if a specific privacy or deletion request must be coordinated. Include the site hostname but no secrets or customer exports.

In-App deletion and export boundaries

Version 1.0 does not provide a general administrator button that purges every App record, a file-based configuration export/import or a customer-restorable App backup. Removing a widget or draft does not prove deletion of superseded versions, audits or time-limited operational records. Jira-native requests, comments, attachments, users and fields remain controlled through Jira/JSM and are not deleted by uninstalling this App.

Uninstall

  1. Use Atlassian Administration's app-management flow and verify the App, vendor and intended site.
  2. Uninstall Customer Portal Toolkit.
  3. Verify that its administration pages and portal modules/actions are no longer available.
  4. Keep only content-free evidence of the authorized operator, App version, site, timestamp and Atlassian confirmation.

Forge retention after uninstall

Atlassian's current Forge storage documentation states that hosted storage data is retained for 28 days after uninstall. Mederak Apps cannot access the uninstalled App as an ordinary customer-facing service and does not control Atlassian's backup, recovery or physical-deletion process. Do not treat a missing UI as proof of immediate physical erasure.

Reinstallation

Atlassian currently states that reinstalling an App using Forge hosted storage does not automatically restore data from the previous installation. A new installation should therefore be treated as starting without a customer-restorable App configuration unless Atlassian provides and completes a separate supported recovery process.

Privacy or deletion requests

Submit a request through Mederak Apps Service Desk before uninstall where possible. Mederak Apps will verify authority, identify whether the request concerns Jira-native data, installed-App data, support data or Atlassian-controlled post-uninstall storage, and provide reasonable assistance. Inactive licensing must not prevent handling a verified privacy question, but technical deletion options may depend on installation state and Atlassian capabilities.

What we do not promise

We do not promise immediate physical deletion, deletion from every Atlassian backup on request, guaranteed restoration during the 28-day platform window, a customer-readable storage export or cross-site migration. Any such process must be confirmed through current Atlassian support and documentation for the specific installation.
